Prelude to the Age of Aquarius

I've never been one to follow astrology--I've always considered it a pursuit that is left over from our animist and superstitious past, from a time when humanity tried to make sense of reality by auguring the stars. That said, however, something is happening at 7:25am (GMT) on Valentine's Day that some people consider auspicious.

I grew up the child of hippies, and the song The Age of Aquarius is imprinted in my mind, particularly these lines:
When the Moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars
This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius

Now, admittedly, the alignment of Jupiter and Mars this occurs with some frequency, but the alignment of those planets when the moon is in the Seventh House a bit rarer (February 4, 1962, May 3 2000). And while the Age of Aquarius begins 'officially' when the sun is at 30 degrees of Aquarius sidereally on Spring Equinox, which will not occur for six hundred more years (the current age, Pisces, began around the time of Christ's birth) -- some consider it auspicious that this conjunction of planets is occuring on February 14th, the day dedicated to Valentine, the patron saint of love.

Here, on the West Coast, this conjunction will occur at 11:20 pm on Friday the 13th for about 18 minutes. I figure what that heck, I'll use any excuse to make love meaningfully. If enough of us on the planet are all doing the same, who knows? Perhaps we'll create an orgasmic shout loud enough to echo through the cosmos for the next couple hundred years, a prelude to the Age of Aquarius.
